KAO Corporation × OYAKO Day

This year, KAO Corporation has become one of our Oyako Day supporters. “Oyako Wa Tsuzukuyo” is a heartwarming animation about the eternal bond between parent and child. This short animation was made by Yoshiharu Sato who has worked on many movies including “My Neighbor Totoro” and “Kiki’s Delivery Service.”

This campaign will be going until the end of this month.To see a list of book stores and their locations click here. 思いをのせて“本”を贈る。TSUTAYAでブックカバー＆しおりをプレゼント TSUTAYAでは「親子が本を通してつながる1日 ～親から子へ“伝えたい”を本で贈ろう～」と題して、親子の“コミュニケーションを深める”きっかけとして、「親子の日」に、親から子どもへ普段言葉にできないメッセージをのせて、本を贈って想いを伝える一日を提案する。 対象のTSUTAYA店舗で本を購入すると、ブックカバーとメッセージしおりがもらえるキャンペーンを2017年7月3日（火）～7月31日（月）に実施。

In support of Oyako Day, TSUTAYA has initiated a campaign asking parents to give their children a book this month. Our hope is that the present will serve as inspiration for the child. We believe in the power of books to stimulate positive change. TSUTAYA 「親子の日」 TSUTAYAでは、7月第四日曜日の「親子の日」に、親から子へ「伝えたい思い」を本で贈ってもらう新しい取り組みをはじめる。

Bruce Osborn and Yoshiko Inoue were presented with the Higashi-Kuninomiya Culture Award for contributions they have made through their Oyako Day project. Bruce and Yoshiko are grateful for the sponsors and volunteers who have supported their social action. Without them, Oyako Day would have never been able to reach so many people. 「親子の日」のオリジネーター、ブルース・オズボーンと井上佳子が、東久邇宮文化褒賞を受賞いたしました。 「親子の日」のオリジネーター、ブルース・オズボーンと井上佳子が、東久邇宮文化褒賞を受賞いたしました。 東久邇宮文化褒賞は、皇室から賜られる宮賞のうちの一つで、高松宮賞はスポーツで優秀な成績を納めたりスポーツ界に貢献した人を讃えるための賞、秩父宮賞は、医療に貢献した方に贈られる賞、東久邇宮賞は、社会、文化、経済、政治等に功績のあった方を顕彰する賞だということです。 今回の受賞は、写真家ブルース・オズボーンの功績と、「親子の日」を通じた社会的活動を評価していただいての受賞だそうです。「親子の日」を応援してくださったみなさま、本当にありがとうございました。この賞は、みなさまの援助と応援があったからこそ受けられた賞です。是非いっしょに喜んでください。

Even if you missed the documentary on Bruce and the Oyako project on BS Japan, you still can see the photographs taken at this year’s OYAKO DAY photo session.The exhibition at Olympus Gallery (Tokyo) will be in September from the 9th to the 14th.Also, on September 10th, there will be a talk show starting at 2:00 PM.
